Level Two: Meditation, Releases for the Hip & Leg

This is a five-part course, however, each level can be taken as a stand-alone class. All levels must be completed to earn a Certification. Students will also be required to successfully complete an open-book written final, a graded practical on the instructor or assistant, and complete four practice sessions in between each level. Students will need to bring sheets, a notebook for taking notes, and an anatomy book (Trail Guide is recommended).

Myofascial Release originated from the osteopathic community in the early 1950s. This certification, and the manual you will use, is the work of Ida Rolf but has been modified by myself and Dr. Shea for the contemporary client. This is function work using a technique that is direct, uses movement and holistic therapeutic skills, for clinical effectiveness. Students will learn theory and application, fascial anatomy, contact skills, treatment strategies, a typical myofascial release session, and indications and contraindications. If students commit to certification other commitments will be discussed.
