Immobility and stress dehydrate fascia potentially leading to pain, hypomobility, and hypermobility in compensating tissues. Myofascial therapy is an effective treatment option for releasing the fascia, but if the client continues to remain sedentary (limiting movement) and/or is unable to recognize stress and/or utilizing stress management techniques, symptoms will persist.
During this course, therapists will learn how to use postural & manual assessments to identify areas of tightness and educate clients in strategies to maintain healthy fascial tissue. Strategies will include recommendations for using the foam roller, myofascial balls, yoga poses (whole body & multiple directional movements) for stretching, and breathwork to help with relaxation.
