Because Massage Therapists see so much skin, they can play a unique role in easing the skin cancer burden on the healthcare system. This NCBTMB approved course provides the Massage Therapist an in-depth chance to
recognize indicators of various types of skin cancer lesions,
learn professional etiquette on informing a client of a suspicious lesion,
and become familiar with current sun safety & skin cancer prevention
information, as it pertains to their scope of practice. Students will be able to demonstrate a proficiency in current
Skin Cancer prevention & detection standards, as well as the appropriate
way to perform a Visual Skin Assessment (VSA) and when to refer them to a dermatologist.

Please bring sheets for hands-on table time, & a notebook to take notes on. there is no book for this class, any educational resources will be provided that day.
